Flute, Recorder, Beginner Piano

All instrumental lessons take an integrated approach, focusing on instrument-specific technique while developing students' all-round musicality through theory, aural skills, sight-reading and stylistic awareness. I use games, duets, improvising and a variety of other activities and resources to keep lessons varied and engaging. They are focused but fun and always encouraging.

Flute

(Beginner to Grade 8)

The Flute was my first study instrument at secondary school and at university until singing took over! I love the instrument's versatility and the rich and varied repertoire that is available.

Recorder

(Beginner to Grade 5)

I began my musical journey on this much maligned instrument, and it is actually one of my favourites! I love playing it; it is an excellent first instrument for younger children, but has plenty of potential for more advanced players too, even moreso when you begin exploring the larger treble and tenor recorders.

Piano

(Beginners)

The piano remains a hugely popular instrument but is probably also one of the most technically difficult! It opens doors to a huge range of styles and skills.
